Norwich City will play newly promoted La Liga side Las Palmas as part of their Championship preparations, according to the president of the Spanish side.

The Canaries are expected to finalise their plans for pre-season imminently, with German side Kaiserslautern confirming they are hosting City at their Fritz Walter Stadion at 2pm local time on July 15.

Norwich are set for a return to pre-season training at the end of this month before kick-starting a series of friendlies from the beginning of July.

David Wagner's side will head to Germany and Austria, with domestic fixtures also set to be announced.

Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez has stated that the Spanish side, known as the Canaries, will play Norwich in a friendly this summer.

"Medical check-ups begin on July 6, while training begins on July 10 in Barranco Seco. We will be in Marbella for ten days, we will play with Norwich in England, and then we will play against Las Palmas Atletico and San Fernando," Ramirez said in a press conference on Friday.

A delegation of Las Palmas executives travelled to Carrow Road in November on a 'fact-finding' mission in an attempt to strengthen ties between the two clubs.

They were promoted to the top division of Spain last season after a second-placed finish in the Segunda Division with 70 points.

The Gran Canaria based side are managed by ex-Barcelona youth coach Garcia Pimienta and includes ex-Everton striker Sandro Ramirez.
