A lot of what he said was fair, particularly the distinction between criticism and abuse.
He advocated for his tenure well, highlighting that fact we have been overachieving since he came here (league positions, trophies, youth minutes on the pitch etc).
That said, he has a huge ego and a very thick skin, which worries me that he actual does absorb criticism.
His point about giving him and Wagner a chance with a full off-season, and the tone regarding a new approach does give me some confidence that they have learned from the mistakes of the last 2 seasons. I, for one, am willing to give Wagner until October to see if he can instill some strength, dynamism and identity to the team.
If we continue to play like that last couple of months then we clearly need a new set of leadership throughout the club otherwise we will just be treading water for the next few years.
On another point, Paddy Davitt is a truly awful interviewer. He mostly asks assumptive questions "It feels you have unfinished business, is that what motivates you?" etc. Why not just ask him "what motivates you today?". Also, seemed to answer most of his own questions, immediately after asking them, giving Webber a super easy way out. F*cking ask the question then stop talking!
Rant over.
