They told me I was gonna melt, lakes and rivers would become

a bubbling sludge bereft of life and all the trees would die under acid rain in the 80s.

I had a nice swim in a very clear and healthy river full of fish, otters, kingfishers, swans, ducks, grebes and herons at the weekend.
