everybody likes to feel in control

of their own life. regardless of relationships. certain beliefs we all have or make up are about what as humans see as an objective certainty. of course it doesnt exist but we all want and crave it.

relationships (one to one) are only a small part of that. an idea of a god or a higher being whether the idyllic western ones of a singularity or the more western ones of a multpilicity are very much the same.

once you have rejected that, it leaves very little to believe in but it does and can enlighten ppl to a stronger level of reality. i could go on blah blah :)....
