Told to me by an Australian client many years ago…
A teacher is doing word association and starts with the word “great” Johnny at the back of the class puts up his hand but as he has a reputation for being rude she ignores him and asks Susan at the front, she says “fantastic” and others follow with words like “amazing” “wonderful” “marvellous” etc.
Eventually only Johnny at the back is the only one left with an unused word so she has to ask him. “Indifferent” he says to which the teacher responds that’s incorrect but Johnny replies “No it isn’t I heard my Mum and Dad talking in bed last night. Mum said ooh that’s great, it’s really fantastic and my Dad replied I know it’s indifferent”
