Agree it’s more democratic…

But (and I guess this goes to the heart of much of the constitutions debate there) is the US a country or just a collection of states.

Yes, it’s more democratic within State A for State A to decide its own laws, but if those conflict with the laws that the country as a whole wants to adopt, you get this pickle.

Tbf we have/had this to a degree with NI and their approach. Was it in democratic for UK Parliament to override NI law or democratic to do so because it better reflects UK will?
