We signed Tzolis, apparently one of the brightest attacking talents in Europe and something of a coup for us, and it will appear to the casual observer that we wasted an entire year of his career and didnt give him a chance. And we had Saint William of Gilmore, but made a player that many thought was of the highest class look very ordinary indeed, including giving him a bloody good heckling on a few occasions.
Maybe the truth is that both Gilmore and Tzolis are nothing more than decent players, nowhere near good enough for the Prem, so its not "our fault". And I suppose we might have a lot of credit in the bank for Aarons/Lewis/Godfrey, maybe Idah and Andy, maybe Rowe and "Jerry" Springett breaking through. But safe to say those two high profile experiences does not a good look if we're looking to take on the next big talent.
