There's only one adult

I don't really feel able to go full Dickens and make the children work!

And the mum is a very delicate art teacher ... not sure manual labour is her thing! She does cook v nicely and we are swapping traditional meals (ours are better, natch). She made something which Google translate called a Napoleon Cake for her birthday - seven layers of sponge!

She is a really determined and brave woman and my hat is off to her. They come from just outside Mykolaiv so are having a particularly worrying time right now.
