Yeah, definitely. Beautiful place, very friendly and good value when you’re here.

I would describe the countryside as PeakDistrict/Scotland/wales on steroids. Very lush, pine forests mixed with tropical plants, green lakes in the volcano craters, dramatic coastline, pretty towns, cows halfway up the side of velvet green slopes. The beaches are black volcanic sand and a little bit windswept. The weather is constantly changing and it isn’t a place for sun worshipping. It rains quite a bit!
Road surfaces are smooth, handy main road through the centre of the island. Little windy roads to all the villages and beaches and hills.
Hot springs to swim in, geysers to look at and cool food in!
Trips out to see whales and dolphins, very good but possibly not for the animals really.
We stayed on the main island which is perfect for one week, plenty to do and see. You need a hire car though. Would come back and see the other islands.
