Jim's statement is, as ever, unequivocal.
It would be unacceptable to let Pukki leave.
The logical conclusion of Jim's approach is that our best players would always either stay until they're past their best, or until they can leave on a free.
Which I'm also sure would be unacceptable.
I'd certainly find those scenarios more inexcusable.
Tho it is a neat segue into the parallel moan that we should have owners who would bankroll Jim's preferred approach to player's contracts. (neatly ignoring the fact that with the exception of maybe PSG, maybe Real, *no* owners really work that way.
