I grew up in Burnham Thorpe. Les Winter the pub landlord was a legend.

I say legend, I mean the most miserable bastard on the planet. He hated tourists, ie customers, and would regularly tell them to f**k off if they ordered anything other than Abbot Ale or Nelson's Blood.

One time someone asked if he had a bar menu, to which he replied, no, I know it of the top of my head, plain, cheese and onion, or salt and viniger.
