But seriously. Scotland. And if they lose I’ll support Wales. Because

1) yes wales or Scotland are always up for it against England, and usually draw the neutral fan to their side but Ukraine this year would be ten times that.

And

2) it’a awful what’s happening in the Ukraine but selfishly I’d like a World Cup which gives us a bit of a mental break from that for a couple of hours a day. If Ukraine qualifies it will dominate the tournament.

So those are my selfish reasons. If I were to step back from those I might think it would be nice to see Ukraine go there and do well and give the Ukrainians those couple of hours of mental respite (those outside the battle areas at least) some hope away from the war.
