The French media I have looked at...

(Le Monde, Le Figaro & Liberation, admittedly more 'serious' media) all appear to treat the government line that it was all Liverpool's fans' fault as ridiculous and are absolutely scathing of the organisation, questioning whether it will be fit to police the Paris Olympics.
