Am I the only one who is not particularly excited about the takeover? Here are my reasons?

- I liked the fact that we were/are trying to do something different. Football is mostly financially f**ked. We are actually the fifth most profitable club in the prem in recent years. Most clubs run at a loss. It feels like we've given up fighting the tide.

- The prem is crap. I have no desire to see us as Crystal Palace / Southampton etc. Even Brighton and Wolves had mostly s**t home seasons this year. It is run for the benefit of the top 6. The rest of us are there to make up the numbers.

- Without relegation you don't get the elation of a promotion season. That is the best that is probably ever gets for us.

- The curse of expectations. Success is always relative to what you expect. We all expected to do a bit better this year which is why it was so crap (although it really was crap). Success / money begets higher expectations. And if these are achieved then expectations get maintained / raised. That's why Leicester and West Ham fans I know think that have had disappointing seasons. Football mostly ends in failure for most teams. And even when it doesn't, it will again soon.

- It's not having money that necessarily matters it is spending it well. Lots of clubs spend lots of money badly. We actually spend money badly when we have it (this season!). Historically we have always been our best on a shoestring. Walker / Lambert / Farke.

Sorry to be a bit of a downer about it, and maybe these guys will somehow lead to better times. I guess it depends on what you think better times are. To me the only reason for being in the prem is to maybe win a cup but even those are mostly stitched up by the big 6 now.
