speaking of briefs

I know it's all "kerching!" and nobody's going to die or lose liberty so who really gives a toss... but how does Vardy's legal team manage to keep a straight face when running all of these ridiculous lines of argument? I'm thinking specifically around the destruction of evidence points.

They know that phone was chucked in the sea. We know they know. They know we know they know. And yet... they've got to play along with it.

They must be dying a bit inside each time, no? They'll spend the rest of their careers being warned in the robing room 'Nice looking phone mate, shame if something happened to it eh?'
