They used to come over so low you could see the pilots heads.

I've been lucky enough to see an SR71 take off. Driving up through Lincolnshire and f**k me if one didn't take off adjacent to the road. Awesome sight and noise. I guess if you lived around Mildenhall it got a bit blasé!
