Norwich City are looking into an Instagram post by on-loan Manchester United defender Brandon Williams, The Athletic understands.
The 21-year-old started Norwich’s 4-0 home defeat to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
At around 6.30pm in the evening, Williams posted a picture indoors of himself giving the middle finger sign, accompanied by the caption: “What a beautiful day. Easy up Norwich City”. He also included the location tag “Suffolk”.
It was unclear what he was giving the middle finger to.
Williams then added another post of his dog, captioned: “For the people that followed me, he's always awake”. He subsequently deleted the initial photo of his gesture.
Williams has been one of the more successful signings of the season for Norwich.
He has become Norwich's first choice left-back under Dean Smith, relegating Greek international and permanent summer signing Dimitris Giannoulis to a bit-part role.
Supporters even unveiled a banner at Villa Park last weekend, the afternoon Norwich's Premier League survival hopes were ended, asking Williams to stay at the club beyond the end of his current loan.
Norwich are bottom of the Premier League table, one point behind Watford.
