Got to say, that’s a great summer of work. Two new CBs have both started I believe. And Guehi looks too class. Two strikers that give them options. Both powerful, tall, quick. A highly rated young winger for next to nothing. A highly experienced midfielder with a lot of seasons under his belt.

I suppose the obvious question is why we couldn’t do this too? And I suppose the obvious answer is that at least the top 3 of their signings were well above our budget, and in all likelihood all of these signings are also getting paid salaries that we are not able to match without smashing our structure. That, plus the obvious fact that Palace are a much better bet for a player coming into the prem than nailed on regulation contenders Norwich.

That said, wouldn’t it have been lovely to bring in the players 4-6 on Palace’s list? Even if that would have been it for the summer?
