Thought I'd read somewhere that PSG for instance

were heavily in debt but the madness of modern top flight football sees them offering Mbappe a £900,000/week 5 year contract extension. Madness. I then occasionally pop over to watch Wroxham and see Sutton, K of S, Drury, Holt, Hucks etc in the bar mixing with the locals over a beer and realise why I love NCFC even if we're never going to compete in the top league again in my lifetime. When my dad first took me to a game that I was old enough to remember in '64 we were 12th in Div 2. Next season after about 10 games there's a good chance that we'll be about 12th in the Champs i.e. exactly the same place. I somehow see that as success given where so many teams (and some "big" teams) from '64 have ended up in this modern world where only money counts. No genuine loyalty (hate the badge kissing) or REAL connection between players and fans.

I know. Too many words.
