In fact my first unit was REME supporting a mobile artillery regiment

which was expected to have a battlefield lifetime of 17 minutes fron the opening of hostilities... then it would probabaly no longer exist.... that sort of fact definetly brings it home. Hence every Friday night till Monday Morning on downtimes, everyone got royally pissed. Just in case.
