If I was cynical this might best be described as

After years and years of stuffing my belly with masses of dirty Russian money, should I now stop, so I can claim i’m taking the moral high ground (and then hope that nobody points to all the thing I own - giant houses, giant pension funds - from all those years of gorging in the trough)? Like a true champion.
