His party was pretty much unleadable but he's a very bright man with integrity in spades and I find myself agreeing with him really quite a lot these days. Brown had a fantastic brain but zero prople or communication skills and those are incredibly important; Thatcher, for all that I utterly despised her and what she stood for was at least a competent PM in that she knew how the system worked and made it work for her; Blair had the communication skills but not the political skill to do the job until towards the end, by which time half the country thought him a war criminal and his goodwill had long since evaporated; Cameron did well getting Clegg on board and they were good for each other but he bequeathed the stupid referendum and didn't actually stand for anything; May played an impossible hand badly; Ben is going to delete this post isn't he...
