You don't use a slide rule for that purpose. You'd be better with a set square or protractor. And what would happen if they had one of those fancy round slide rules - they'd end up turning on a sixpence making a slide rule pass. Of course if they were trying to do some logarithms at the same time then the slide rule pass would be helpful, but I bet not.
