On the way back from the footy on Saturday, a man stopped and asked me the score

I said glumly '4-0' and he said 'Not to Norwich?' so I had to confirm it was Man City who had won 4-0.

Now it certainly would have been technically accurate if I'd said 'Nil - 4' but I'm not sure it should have been necessary. The clues were there:

1. I was wearing my NCFC yellow and green scarf
2. I responded with a glum defeatist manner
3. We were playing Man City. Was there ever any doubt that if the score was 4-0, Man City were going to be the winners?
