Shall we spend public money participating in a corrupt process

Given that we know it's corrupt, everyone else knows it's corrupt, I mean it's absolutely blatant that it's corrupt, when our anti-corruption laws very rightly prevent us from acting in ways which might mean we win anyway?

Think that question answers itself honestly. What staggers me is the almost £3m to think about it. I'd have thought about it for them for only £2m and they could have got more Colin The Caterpillars in for important peoples' birthdays.

I'm not entirely convinced UEFA is materially less corrupt than FIFA; but honestly it would bother me not one jot if we hosted none of these. The Lympics was special and I'd love us to host it again though I know we never will in my lifetime. I'm not sure I'm fussed about any other competition, given all the corruption and all.
