I've been thinking a lot about an episode from months ago that struck me. One of their experts described the British people as being 'heroically good' during lockdown - though the focus was always on the few who broke the rules - but the real story was just how good most people had been.
Every time I read of another DS party, every time I read some Tory councillor say 'we all broke the rules', every time I hear another heart-breaking story of someone who couldn't be with a dying loved one, or who couldn't hug someone when they were grieving, I think of that episode.
Most of us were heroically good.
