If he can’t fit into any type of midfield other than a Farke style one, which lets be honest, is completely ineffective at PL level unless you have a Man City budget, doesn’t that suggest that he is a somewhat limited player, and that he isn’t as good as he thinks he is?

I agree he shouldn’t be blamed for squandering his value, mostly though because I doubt we’ve ever turned down an offer for him. My view is that when it came down to it, we might have wanted a big fee if we were to sell him, but its unlikely there was ever anyone out there willing to pay it.

It is a shame it’s come to this.
