does anyone fully understand the new highway code rules

copied from daily mail "NEW RULE H2 - How drivers will now have to give way to pedestrians waiting to cross a road or zebra crossing. At a junction you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning."

How close to the junction must a pedestrian be for a car to stop, for example someone 1 cm away is deemed to be crossing at the junction whilst someone 500 metres away presumably is not, so where between these points is the person deemed to be at the junction?

What about traffic light junctions. if there are pedestrian lights does the pedestrian have to comply with a red light or the new rule? Drivers going on a green and seeing a red pedestrian light might expect pedestrians won’t cross or can they cross?

Are roundabouts considered junctions? It could be very dangerous if more drivers have to stop on a roundabout.

any ideas ?
