Out in the sticks it was a couple of miles walk to the nearest pub. On our way back we arranged signposts for some village or other into a triangle so someone driving to it and following the signs would have gone round and round and round…this was back in the dark ages before satnavs and smartphones (or any mobile phones in fact).
Maybe someone as drunk and stupid as we were has done something similar?
And if some decades ago you were trying to get to some obscure East Norfolk village and found yourself driving round in small triangles I can only apologise. We were young, foolish, and really very drunk indeed.
