I agree our set pieces were bad (both attack and defence) for the majority of Farke's reign however i do think this part as a result of the focus on signing technical type of players at the expense of athletic players. You only have to look at the size and physicality of others sides compared with us.

It's clear to see that Smith is already looking to get more physical presence and athleticism in the side with the increased involvement of Idah etc.
I think you will see the likes of Dowell eased out due to their lack of physicality/athleticism as a result of this as well.
