I did a quick back of the envelope calculation yesterday.

Only on paper instead.

Anyway, I came to the conclusion that I pay, per unit of time, about 40 times as much for BBC as I do for Netflix. I just rarely use BBC. Once in a blue moon they will have a decent drama series (can only think of Detectorists and Peaky Blinders in the last 10 years), I'm not into crime drama (which they seem to do a lot of) and not into most of the comedy. So now the only thing I really watch it for is documentaries, and they make a lot less of those than they did, say, 10 years ago.

So it's a great deal for those who use it. Not such a great deal for those who don't.
