Right or wrong maybe he felt disrespected because.....

he has been as much a part of the success over the past 3 years as any player but is earning considerably less.
He is being told he is worth a lot more than players who earn a lot more than him.
If that's the case I kind of get it.

A player is worth what the market will pay.
If another club is willing to pay him a lot more than us then that's what he is worth.
