the approach clearly hasn't worked. We've essentially just replaced our best players with ones who are significantly worse.

I think that in Normann we've seen the difference that signing just one player can make, if he is immediately up to the required standard. If we had spent £50m on two or three more players of that level, we would have had a chance this season.
