You're judging individuals based on the 'sum of the whole' though

You put in a decent DCM or two and a Holty/Iwan/Toney type striker to provide a release valve when we're under pressure at the back (and also a target for crosses when we get into wide areas forward) and I reckon the vast majority of our players would look miles better than they currently do in the option-free system we committed ourselves to this season by not adding those things.
