I picked up a 127(ish) SCT on a computerised mount when CC junior was little.
Great for the moon, planets, binary stars etc which you can see even through city light pollution.
Borrowed a couple of scopes from the local Astro society at the time and concluded that chasing DSOs with a home scope was alright, but I'd not get into imaging (there's loads of better pics from each night on the forums, also costly).
Nice little hobby, but it's now mostly gathering dust.
