Earns 13k a day, doesn't take home

Assuming footballers do actually pay some sort of tax although likely avoiding large sums of it.

But surely in a market economy you measure yourself against the going rate, not the average national income.

I'd say the current going rate of a Ballon d'Or candidate is higher than 200k per week.
