I am involved with adults with learning difficulties and have found myself as designated tech expert.
One adult in particular is severely autistic and like a destructive rain man on steroids.
They have a Samsung tablet with a handful of apps they likes to use. YouTube, Spotify, street view kind of stuff.
They also like to f**k it up, delete everything, says yes to pop ups, fill it with hundreds of apps, sign s**t out and render it useless.
Now. I can lock the tablet to the home screen, hide everything bar the apps required, but most importantly would previously lock the settings menu and all superfluous apps behind a passcode using the app lock feature in McAfee mobile security. This worked brilliantly up to now.
McAfee in their infinite wisdom have removed the app lock feature from their antivirus. Chaos has now ensued.
I've tried other app lock apps, but every one has back doors, some won't lock the settings menu. They also give access to the settings menu every time you turn the tablet on for a few minutes.
How the f**king hell can I secure it?!
