Why?

Let’s have the game run without it being distorted and the competitive element destroyed by outside investment and Sky money and based on genuine football skills in running clubs-a bit like it was before football began ie pre 1992. In an age when promoted teams to the top division were truly competitive, because it was a more level playing field.
That doesn’t sound like Americanisation of the game to me.
