Which was probably the best version at the time, a bit too much bounce but ran true. Passing teams coped with it well, hoofball was more of a problem.

It was said locally that the bounce was because the spec was to cope with a baby elephant as they wanted to rent it out in the off season eg for circuses.

At the start of the season when freshly prepared (anded, I think) , it was a perfect surface, the bounce got higer as the season went on.
