"It doesn't work" is not a meaningful statement is it?

It 'works' well enough to get us two Championship titles while a truck load of similar sized clubs flounder in the EFL. We are higher in the league than when we started this approach.

It has its limitations is probably the correct phrasing. Not 'it doesn't work'.
