Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart I enjoyed v v much (tho pretty gruelling at times)

And Dominion by Tom Holland (long, and took time, but excellent)

Hamnet v entertaining too

New year's res: try to finish all books given to me for Xmas and (December) bday....
