If Worcestershire/Somerset can generally break even then all of them can.
(the ECB encouraging clubs like Glamorgan to get into horrendous debt to become test grounds shouldn't be used as an excuse to kill the county game). Likewise the ECB pissing money away on stupid stuff shouldn't be an excuse to destroy the domestic game.
It's like suggesting we'd be better off forming the tractor canaries with Ipswich and playing as the East anglia braves or something. Exactly the sort of bulls**t that people who have no care for the sport or its history would suggest.
How does reducing the number of traditional, established, professional clubs improve the opportunities for players to come through the system? It just makes it more niche. They tried it with the rugby and, as far as I can tell its just ripped the heart out of the domestic game even further with no discernable benefit. A three tier setup reduces the games and makes more of them count.
