I was told by an engineer the best ones don't have digital panels e.g. Beko, white knight

On the basis that he had more call outs for faulty electronic parts which were also expensive to replace. The non-digital units (hard to find now) only ever needed brushes replaced which was simple and low cost every 4-5 years. Having had both Bosch and Beko, for me the latter was more reliable and nearly half the price. BUT less features. Question if you really need the gee whiz stuff or do you want something that can simply wash 30/40/60 degrees and spin at 1600.
