that brought Gilmour here. He is a damn good player - Scotland performances prove that - but not in a position we needed. He is not a defensive midfielder like Skipp nor a creator of chances such as Emi. DF should have known that - I think he (and tbf the rest us) just got excited at the thought of having him here. No way does he deserve the stick he is getting, though sadly I can understand it as everyone has to have a scapegoat and whilst it is often the manager that doesn't apply as DS has only been here two months and these are not his players.

The problem I think is that we were just not prepared to pay to get the targets we really needed. I'm thinking of that Celtic defender who went to Brentford and Billing who chose (sadly rightly it seems) to stay at Bournemouth. Think it's significant that Normann only came in on the last day of the transfer window - now he is a good player but his injury record is poor. We would have known that as would all the other Premiership clubs - suspect he was a last resort.

For most of the other buys I think they are good players but their confidence must be ******.

Not easy at the moment, but what goes around will one day come back. For the moment all I want is two more points to ensure we beat Derby's points score in 2008! OTBC.
