Nifty - "Learning to live with it"

I think the terminology has all got a bit fuddled in the public mind tho.

What we're currently in the middle of is a load of restrictions by proxy (self imposed and as a result of people getting positive tests).

When I hear the words learning to live with the virus, it makes me think of:

1)Improving ventilation in indoor venues

2)Making sure that when people do test positive they isolate so that things are nipped in the bud.

3)getting used to wearing masks if we feel under the weather /in flu season.(see the far East, and how they've weathered this better than us)

4)getting variant adapted jabs periodically.

All of which would allow life to carry on pretty normally (number 2 on the list being much lower numbers because of all the effects of the others).

What learning to live with any endemic disease is emphatically not is pretending it doesn't exist and going about life as we did beforehand (doing so prolongs the problems and leads to the lockdowns that those banging on about the restrictions purport to want to avoid).

Added benefits of all the above are that they'd work for pretty much any other respiratory virus too, so would give us some future proofing too...
