I assume I’ve got Omicron

Cos it’s the trendy variant and I am nothing if not fashion-forward.

Having been boosted just a few weeks ago my immune system could not have been better prepared and at this point, though it’s certainly not pleasant, it feels very unlikely I’ll be troubling the NNUH (or the local crematorium). I can’t really concentrate on anything, I sleep a *lot* and it hurts a bit; but I’ve had worse and friends who’ve had covid have suffered far more than I’m going through. That may be luck with booster timing or it may be that Omicron makes you less ill. Either way though I’m escaping the worst of it by some distance, or so it seems.

If I hadn’t been boosted then my two old AZ shots probably wouldn’t have been much help on their own (attenuation of effect over time plus new variant).

So if anything my experience has left me more convinced than ever that getting everyone boosted is the right move and the best weapon we have.

I’d also be deploying tighter social restrictions honestly but suspect that will come between Xmas and the New Year. BJ is damaged goods and has to keep his right wing on side just now.
