Bit late to this particular party - but it is the hypocrisy that people are angry about.

It’s not too much to expect your elected officials to follow rues they lay out at a time of national crisis - in fact, it’s the bare minimum.

My dad had cancer this time last year, it was terminal and we knew that there was every chance it would be his last - it was. He and my mum spent Christmas on their own, didn’t see me, my sister or their grandchildren other than a waved happy Christmas through a window. We had every reason to break rules, but we didn’t out of responsibility, community and because nobody wanted to hasten dad's demise.

People offering apologies for this shower of s**t ( i know politics is banned, but they demonstrably are) - whether directly or indirectly by ‘not giving a f**k about their party’ or not expecting a basic level of communal responsibility from people because they happen to be ‘rich and powerful’ should perhaps take a moment to think about the other possible reasons that people have to be furious about the rule breaking at downing street and elsewhere.
