I think the bigger issue was the outlet for our defenders

which meant they had to hoof it.

The full backs were penned in and Sorensen, although he did ok, is not the man to receive the ball in a tight space, turn and take it forward.

That's why the Skipp replacement was so pivotal to us in the summer and why we miss Normann so much. He's the one that can put a ball over the top, or can play it to gilmour / pukki, or run with it. He's not perfect, but he's miles better than anyone else we have for that particular role.
