I was a young teacher teaching a class of 9-10 year olds. Blimey! They'd all be in their 40s now! I've just checked to see if this was the year I set them a Geography quiz for homework where they had to label on a map all of the places mentioned in Letter From America (Lewis, Loch Harbour, Sutherland...) but that must have been the year before. I've always thought it must have seemed a baffling, random thing to do if you were one of the parents trying help and had no idea about the song!
