As an aside, it’s amazing how differently vets (or at least those we have used) approach treatment when they know there isn’t an insurer picking up the tab. It’s certainly more ‘pragmatic’ and, dare I say, honest about likely outcomes of tests and treatments.

But you need to be pretty heard hearted about the little tykes.
